A FREE Symposium open to the public.
The UNC Center for Functional GI & Motility Disorders engages in interdisciplinary research on interactions between the mind and body in health and disease, with a specific focus on the causes and treatment of functional gastrointestinal disorders.
The symposium will include presentations on the state-of-the-art in many areas of gastroenterology by visiting senior scientists, followed by overviews of on-going studies involving UNC faculty and investigators.

Behavioral and Rehabilitation Treatment of Bowel Disorders - An Advanced Course

Course Overview: This is an advanced two-day course designed for nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other health care providers who are seeking a better understanding of the various bowel disorders that affect children, women and men; and the specific rehabilitation strategies that are useful in treating these disorders. The course is appropriate for clinicians who have already attended a basic didactic course that has covered rehabilitation and biofeedback treatment for pelvic floor disorders.
